Accessorize Colorado

I realised recently that I've been wearing almost nothing but blues on my nails recently, so I'm making a conscious effort to wear different colours now! Today I'm showing you Accessorize Colorado, a light grey polish with gold shimmer. I had a little trouble capturing the shimmer but you can kind of see it in the first photo. I used three coats for opacity.

This isn't the sort of polish I'd normally wear and I'm not 100% convinced it suits my skin tone, but I kind of like it anyway. It's a nice palette-cleanser. It reminds me a lot of Nails Inc Covent Ballet Garden but at half the price (yay!). I think Accessorize nail polishes don't get as much notice as they deserve - they have a good range of colours and they're purse-friendly. What do you think?

Accessorize Aztec

Most, if not all, hardcore nail polish collectors love duochromes. And the one thing better than duochromes? Multichromes. The one I'm showing you today is an absolute beauty: Accessorize Aztec. It's apparently a dupe of Orly Space Cadet, but as I don't have that polish I'm going to review Aztec in its own right.

I tend to get so entranced by the pretty jewellery in Accessorize that I often forget they do make-up too. And interesting make-up, more to the point. Accessorize Aztec is a very special polish. Like I said, it's a multichrome. It has a purple base but flashes green, gold and bronze depending on the angle. The first coat went on really sheer and I was worried it would be difficult to build up opacity, but by the third coat it was perfectly opaque. The formula was brilliant, I didn't have any problems, although the width of the brush is narrower than I usually like. But really, I should let this polish speak for itself:

I believe this polish originally came out in 2010, but I picked it up in Superdrug late last year so there are clearly still bottles floating around. I think it cost me about £4 for a 10ml bottle, which is quite reasonable, non?

Accessorize Halloween Haul

I was in Accessorize at the weekend and zeroed in on their Halloween section. Accessorize always do such lovely things - whether it's jewellery, bags, or make-up - that I was interested to see what they had. Aside from the usual fare like skull earrings, they also had a couple of things that caught my attention...and ended up going home with me!

There's nothing really new about black nail polish or black lipstick, but it was only a fiver for the set and I wanted to see if they were any good. The nail polish isn't the best - it's a bit gloopy, which is a problem that lots of black nail polishes suffer from. I really liked the lipstick though. You know how sometimes you buy a dark-coloured lipstick but when you actually put it on, it's quite sheer? This is not like that. This is black. Really, really BLACK. It's absolutely perfect for Halloween.

I was really into temporary tattoos (and then a real tattoo!) when I was younger, so these bat body stickers reminded me a bit of that. Plus, they're sparkly. You can't go wrong with anything sparkly.

Finally, I bought some adorable bat nail transfers. They were a bit on the pricey side (£2.50) considering you only get enough for one for each finger, but they're so cute that I couldn't resist. I wasn't sure what I was going to go as for Halloween, but given all the bat-related things it looks like I'm going as a vampire bat!
